Win At The Jossi Design Stand: The House and Garden Show 2019

It has been a very busy week at Jossi Design, we recently found ourselves in the very fortunate position of being awarded a free stand at the House and Garden Show 2019, thanks to the African Institute of the Interior Design Professions (IID) and the East Coast Radio House and Garden Show.  So it has been all systems go getting the stand painted and decorated the way we had planned, as well as juggling our various projects.  This is a fantastic opportunity for us to not only show our interior design skills but to also promote our new online store, where you can buy the items we would choose to put into our client’s homes.  For those who visit the stand there are some great prizes up for grabs as well as discounts on offer, all the information you need is displayed at the stand, but a Jossi Design member will also be there to help you with any queries you may have.

It is hard to believe that I started Jossi Design 13 years ago, and we have been a proud Interior Design Agency Member of the IID for almost as long.  I was privileged enough to spend 2 years with the IID as the organizations CEO, and before that I was the KZN regional head, while Craig R. Bennett (Director of Jossi Design) has also donated his time to the IID as the KZN Regional Head over the years. Both Craig and I believe so strongly in the importance of the work we do and this industry we love, and while running an organization can be challenging, we are appreciative of our time spent on the committee of such an established organisation as the IID.

The IID represents professional Interior Architects, Interior Designers and Interior Decorators who have the required qualifications, training and experience and promotes excellence in the practice of interior design across the African continent.  “We help our members develop the skills required to provide the best possible design solutions to their clients, we educate the public about the contribution interior designers make to society, and we protect interior designers’ right to practice” (IID Mission Statement 2019).

  • Support our members in their pursuit of a sustainable livelihood by elevating their individual voices and collectively shaping the future of our industry.
  • Create professional recognition within the design industry for the three distinct sectors of interior decorating, interior design and interior architecture.
  • Raise the standards of education and practice for interior decorating, interior design and interior architecture.
  • Foster community between members and industry both locally and internationally, in order to share best practices, support one another’s businesses, and compete on a global scale.
  • Promote the economic and health benefits of good interior design to the public.

Jossi Design would also like to express our gratitude to the East Coast Radio House and Garden Show for the stand that we have won, and just seeing some of the stands being built up this week has been inspiring.  It is going to be a great show… and they have a fantastic lineup of interesting topics:

Get ready to be inspired by some of Durban’s top interior designers, chosen by the African Institute of Interior Design Professionals (IID), who will interpret the hottest décor trends for 2019.

A merging of two favourites brings you a bigger and better local artisinal experience.  The Home-Grown Design and Food Fair, brings together local makers, creators, crafters and designers who will showcase their latest products, where you’ll also find delicious local eats and drinks from an array of food stalls and bars as well experience live music from emerging local artists.

A first for the show and for South Africa, the Wanderlust Tiny Home team will reveal their ‘Tiny Home’ – a purpose-built, moveable home that promotes energy-efficient, sustainable living.  These affordable and stylish down-sized homes embrace the concept of “work anywhere, live anywhere” and visitors to the show will have the opportunity to tour one of these homes before anyone else in the country.

It is going to be an exciting 10 days at the show. I suggest you pop on down to take a look at what is happening at the House and Garden Show 2019 and while you are there come and visit the Jossi Design stand (E02) to see our lovely decor stock and find out more about Interior Design… and find out what you can win.
