| This beautiful holiday apartment has amazing
sea views and is positioned between Umhlanga and Ballito
making it a wonderful location for a relaxing holiday.
The fabrics and furniture were specifically chosen with
the colours and textures of the fabrics in mind. Shades
of green have been used in the Lounge and the Guest Bedroom,
this works well with the natural fabrics and floral patterns.
This is a family apartment so it was important that it
be warm and inviting.
The placement of each piece of furniture has been planned
to make the best use of the space available. The server
has been designed to float off the lounge wall, with
a mirror above in a silver frame which reflects light
and gives the feeling of more space. The low TV unit
was designed hand-in-hand with the floating server using
the same colours and finishes, and fits perfectly into
the recessed wall. We decided to wallpaper this recessed
wall to make this a feature area with the plasma TV
and unit below. The reading chair is upholstered in
a green/ gold velvet, and the tall lamp and glass side
table create another focal point in the room. The large
abstract artwork and the designer rug are the finishing
touches to the lounge.
The Girl's bedroom is simple yet fun with white being
the main colour and splashes of pink for the accents.
The chest of drawers was also designed by Jossi Design
especially for this bedroom, with the backs of each
of the shelves painted pink, with pink and white teddy
bears on the reading chair and pink scatter cushions
on the bunk beds. The inspirational canvas/ artwork
above the bunk beds creates a talking point.
The Main Bedroom uses shades of pale blue and silver
and reflects the colours of the sea, as this is the
view from the bedroom sliding doors. The Dressing table
and mirror, the bed and bedside pedestals have been
designed by Jossi Design for this room. The fabrics
and finishes all work well together to complete this
elegant space.
The outdoor furniture uses brighter shades of blues
in the cushions, the pots and the white lantern all
create visual interest. The woven pods are actually
small ottomans which can be stacked up or used as individual
seats for children. This is a beautiful location and
will make a wonderful holiday apartment and we enjoyed
working on this project. |
