One of the reasons I chose a career in
Interior Design was the fact that I knew each project
would be different from the last. It is very exciting
to be constantly involved in creating new things and
coming up with new designs.
Each project is unique and this is evident in the interior
design of a cricket box that Jossi Design renovated
for the IPL. The deadline seemed impossible at first...
2 weeks to come up with an overall design and create
the completed box in time for the first IPL game in
Durban.
The design time was minimal and our contractors got
to work on site immediately.
Everything is designed around how the client uses the
space, the TV position was moved to the opposite wall
and a floating shelf below provides a surface for drinks
to be placed while socialising with the other guests.
The existing bar counter was turned around, resprayed
(as this was a wood veneer) and granite and glass counters
added, and this application was used to address the
existing kitchen.
The corporate colours are evident in the mosaics used
on the kitchen wall and the signage, the artwork is
limited to information about the products the company
creates.
The tiled floor was swopped for a walnut timber laminate
which creates a more intimate and comfortable feel. |
